Training Course in
Bridal, Prom and Special Occasion Makeup

Join Caroline on this exciting starter course of Bridal and Special Occasion Make-up, including Air Brushing and Hair Styling. The course will give you a full understanding of the world of Make-up and Hair Artistry with the added knowledge of Airbrushing. Airbrushing is very popular in the USA and Australia and is increasingly used now in Great Britain with the onset of HD Cameras.

Airbrushing produces a flawless finish and requires no touch ups whatever the weather conditions. It is currently being used at the Jemma Kidd Make-up school and is loved by working Make-up Artists. Directors and Cameramen are amazed by how it looks in extreme close ups.

Course contents

This course is divided into six days spread over three weeks:

Day 1. Lesson:

An Introduction to the course

• Handing out timetables, emphasising organisational skills and Health and Safety.

Marketing and Promoting

• Practical Sessions take place in the afternoons. Learning to set up the work station and learning the application of foundation concealers highlighting and shading
• Students work in pairs, taking alternative roles as Make-up Artist and Artist /Client

Day 2. Lesson

• Studying all aspects of Bridal, and Special Occasion Make-up.
• Working with Make-up Products
• Learning applications of concealers, foundations producing flawless finishes

Day 3. Lesson:

• Learning the Art of Airbrushing
• Understanding the machine and general cleaning and care
• Practical lesson using foundation colours and blushers

Day 4. Lesson:

• Airbrushing with stencils from creating to application

Day 5. Lesson

• Hairstyling learning to put up Hair and styling application of Accessories/flowers colours etc.

Day 6. Lesson

• Last session bringing together the whole look chosen by the student, using all parts of the course

At the end of the course, the students will be expected to produce two looks - one very natural and the other made-up using two techniques, first using traditional liquid foundation and secondly an Airbrushed look. Students will also be expected to style hair to complement each of the looks.

The final looks will be photographed and used in the students Portfolio. Homework is expected throughout the course, resulting in students Portfolio.

Following successful completion of this preliminary course with Caroline, there is every opportunity to take on further more demanding modules with the Head of Centre Stage Make-up School Judy Neame.
